Hanoi (VNA) – Nominations for the Devotion Music Awards 2019 hosted by TheThao & Van Hoa (Sports & Culture) newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency wereannounced at a ceremony in Hanoi on March 12.

Addressing the event, Le Xuan Thanh, Editor-in-Chief of The Thao & Van Hoa,said the nominations acknowledge creations and contributions to the musicsector.

The Devotion Music Awards 2019, in its 14th version, has ninecategories namely Producer of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of theYear, New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Programme of the Year, Seriesof Programmes of the Year, Musician of the Year, and Singer of the Year.

According to the organisers, each category has from four to five nominations,except the “Programme of the Year” which attracts eight nominations  namely “Anh trang tinh yeu” by Lan Anh, “Binhminh” by Thanh Lam, “Khat vong” by Vu Thang Loi, “Mo duyen” by Pham PhuongThao, “Romance – Nguoi dan ong va bong hoa tren nguc trai” by Ha Anh Tuan, “Tenof ten” by Dong Nhi, “Thoi gian” by My Linh and “Tung Duong hat bo tu SongHong” by Tung Duong.

Pham Thanh Ha, Tien Cookie, Duong K, Do Hieu and Vo Thien Thanh will vie forthe Producer of the Year.

“Bua yeu” by singer Bich Phuong, “Cham day noi dau” by Erik, “Chay ngay di” bySon Tung M-TP, “Co ai thuong em nhu anh” by Toc Tien and “Thang dien” by PhuongLy will compete for the Music Video of the Year.

“Huyen thoai’ by Phan Manh Quynh is among the nominations for the Song of theYear.

Apart from “Lon Xon” band, Bui Lan Huong with album titled “Thien than sa nga”,Phung Khanh Linh with “Hom nay toi buon”, Thai Vu with “Hanh tinh song song”and Jasta Tee have been nominated for the New Artist of the Year.

Nominations for the Album of the Year are “Chat voi Mozart II” by My Linh, “Dramatic”by Bich Phuong, “Hanoi va em khi Thu chom Dong sang” by Duc Tuan, “Saigon Feel– Ho Trung Dung meets Vo Thien Thanh” by Ho Trung Dung, “Stardom” by Vu CatTuong and “Thien Than Sa Nga” by Bui Lan Huong.

“Bai hat hay nhat – Sing my song 2018,” “Ban nhac Viet,” “Giai dieu tu hao” and“See Sing Share” will run for the “Series of Programmes of the Year.”

Tien Cookie and Pham Thanh Ha, Vo Thien Thanh, Tien Tien and Vu Cat Tuong arenominated for the “Musician of the Year.”

The Devotion Music Awards were firstlaunched in 2004. This year’s award ceremony is scheduled take place in Ho ChiMinh City on April 16.- VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
