Da Nang (VNA) - The first-everDanish Film Week kicked off in the central city of Da Nang on May 26, providingthe local audiences a chance to contemplate well-known Danish movies.
Recently produced films, including “A RoyalAffair”, “The Hunt” and “A Hijacking” are screened during the week. Many ofthem won awards or were nominated at international film festivals, includingOscar Academy Awards and Cannes Film Festival.
Danish Ambassador to Vietnam CharlotteLaursen said the event aims to introduce Denmark’s filming industry with internationally-acclaimedproducers, actors and actresses as well as its society to Vietnamese viewers.
She expressed her belief that the film weekwill be one of cultural programmes that help enhance the partnership and mutualunderstanding between the two nations.
According to the diplomat, the Danish Embassyhas funded a cultural support programme to the tune of over 3 million USD in orderto promote cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Denmark.
Since 2006, hundreds of cultural projectsand artists have benefited from the programme.-VNA
