Daegu city’s culture, arts introduced in HCM City

HCM City (VNA) – A festival themed “Colours of Daegu City” opened in theevening of November 12 as part of the Ho Chi Minh City-Gyeongju World CultureExpo 2017.

Hundreds of visitorswere entertained with artistic and cultural performances by artists from theRepublic of Korea (RoK)’s city and students of the Keimyung University.

Speaking at theevent, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said hiscity and Daegu set up cooperative and friendship ties in 2015, with encouragingoutcomes recorded so far.

He expressed hisbelief that the two cities will see more cooperation opportunities in thefuture, adding that mutual understanding between their people will be boostedvia cultural and trade exchanges.

Kwon Young Jin, Mayorof Daegu, said Daegu is a “city of culture and art.”

Based on thebasis of the established bilateral ties between Daegu and HCM City, their peoplewill become closer through cultural and artistic activities.

Daegu is one ofthe largest cities in the Republic of Korea, only behind the capital city of Seoul,Busan and Incheon.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
