An exhibition featuring the charming beauty of the Vietnamese traditional dress Ao dai has opened at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula in the central city of Da Nang.

Da Nang (VNA) - An exhibitionfeaturing the charming beauty of the Vietnamese traditional dress Ao dai hasopened at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula in the central city of DaNang.

EntitledVietnamese Ao dai – The Everlasting Beauty, the week-long event displays Ao dai collections of two famous Vietnamese designers, Adrian Anh Tuanand Thuy Nguyen.

Usingsilk, satin, chiffon and brocade, each Ao dai creation in the collection Secret Garden of the HCM City-based designer Tuan has been compared bythe designer to “a splendid spring garden”.

“Eachof my Ao dai presents not only the femininity of mature women, but alsotheir charm and elegance,” said the designer and founder of the fashion brandValenciani.   

DesignerThuy Nguyen, who designed all Ao dai creations in the recent movie CoBa Sai Gon – a movie honouring the timeless beauty of Ao dai, introducedher collection My Vietnam.

Thefounder of the fashion brand Thuy Design House was inspired by the famouslandscapes and traditional cultural values of the country’s three regions, witheach of her dresses depicting the beauty of nature or festivities.

Aimingto introduce to international guests a special feature of Vietnamese culture,the event will end with an Ao dai fashion show on February 28 at theIndochina-styled La Maison 1888 Restaurant.

The6-star InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula, which hosted the 2017 APECSummit, is the only resort in the world to win the award for “The World’s MostLuxurious Resort” of the World Travel Awards for four consecutive years. -VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

More than 70,000 women from across the capital city of Hanoi dressed up in Ao dai (traditional long dress) and participated in a folk dance ensemble on October 20 to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi and the 94th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
