Da Nang (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to open a book street to create a bigger space for avid readers.
Department Deputy Director Nguyen Huu Chien said the book street would promote reading among young people.
He said the department will build an open centre for local people and tourists in a friendly space.
Da Nang will be the third city in Vietnam to design a book street after HCM City and Hanoi.
Last month, the city also debuted its first reading space, the Green&Brown Bookstore, comprising a library, a bookstore and a coffee shop. It is on Tran Cao Van street and houses 10,000 books.
Readers can borrow and buy books, then sit down to read with a cup of coffee in a quiet space.
Last year the city opened a new municipal library building on Bach Dang street.-VNA
