Hanoi (VNA)
– The Cong Hien (Devotion) Music Awards 2019 has recognized the efforts to renew and experiment new things of artists in various aspects, from composing to performing and programme producing.

The awards ceremony of the 14th Cong Hien (Devotion) Music Awards (2019) was held in the evening of April 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, with the attendance of Party Central Committee member and Director General of the Vietnam News Agency Nguyen Duc Loi, and Editor-in-Chief of the The Thao& Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) newspaper Le Xuan Thanh, who is head of the 2019 awards’ organizing board.

The mark of young artists

According to Editor-in-Chief Le Xuan Thanh, this year, besides the familiar big names like Thanh Lam, My Linh, Pham Phuong Thao, Lan Anh or Tung Duong, many new faces emerged among the nominees for the awards such as Bui Lan Huong, Phung Khanh Linh, Thai Vu, Phan Manh Quynh, Bich Phuong and Toc Tien.

“With what they did in the past year, we can say that the young artists are the hope of Vietnamese music. We hope that the Devotion Awards will channel more will and aspiration for them to firmly advance on the glorious path of creativity, which is also full of challenges and spikes and thorns, thus contributing to the richness and development of Vietnamese music,” said the head of the 2019 awards’ organizing board.

Many young artists had their names announced in various categories of the awards.

The song Co Ai Thuong Em Nhu Anh(Who Loves Me as You Did)–composer Bui Cong Nam, singer Toc Tien – was named the Song of the Year. The song attracts music lovers with catching melody and sad lyrics, while Toc Tien’s voice showed passion and seductiveness that is new for her, while still keeping her familiar fierceness.
