Hanoi (VNA) – More condolences from leaders as well as agencies and organisationsof foreign countries continue to pour in over the passing of President Tran DaiQuang.

The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee, the National Assemblyand the Government of Laos, and the Lao Front for National Construction CentralCommittee on September 21 sent a message of sympathy to the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government ofVietnam and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

The messageexpressed deep grief at the death of the Vietnamese President, and emphasizedthe President’s significant contributions to developing the great friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive between Vietnam and Laos.

Not only theVietnamese Party, State and people have lost a beloved leader, but the Party,State and people of Laos also have lost a close friend, the message wrote.

The same day, NayPena, Acting President of the Senate of Cambodia, cabled a message to NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, expressing his deepest sympathy to thePresident’s family, and the Vietnamese legislature, Government and people.

President Quangis a good friend of Cambodian people, and his historic achievements and modelexample will be everlasting, he said.

President ofCuba’s Council of State and Council of Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez wrote in his letter of condolencedated September 21 to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc that he was deeplysaddened by the death of President Quang – a faithful friend of Cuba’srevolution.

Thesame day, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee RaulCastro Ruz, extended his condolences to General Secretary of the CPV CentralCommittee Nguyen Phu Trong.

BothCuban leaders recalled the late President’s contributions to promoting thefriendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Alsoon September 21, China’s Vice President Wang Qishan extended his sympathy tohis Vietnamese counterpart Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of theNational People's Congress of China also expressed his sympathy to NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and ForeignMinister Wang Yi sent a letter of condolence to Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh over President Quang’s death.

Intheir messages, the Chinese officials said President Quang is an outstanding leaderof the Party and State of Vietnam, and a close comrade and friend of China.

Theystressed that the late President had significantly contributed to developingthe Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and expressedtheir belief that under the strong leadership of the Vietnamese Party andGovernment, the Vietnamese people will turn the grief into strength andconstantly make new achievements in the cause of socialist construction.

President TranDai Quang passed away at 10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at the age of 62 due to seriousillness.

He waselected State President of Vietnam at the 11th session of the 13th NationalAssembly on April 2, 2016.-VNA.
