Hanoi (VNA) – Many heads of state and government from foreigncountries have sent their condolences to Vietnam over the death of President of theSocialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang.
On behalf of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, theNational Assembly and Government of Laos and the Lao Front for NationalConstruction, Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachit on September21 cabled a message of condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam CentralCommittee, the National Assembly and Government of Vietnam, and the VietnamFatherland Front Central Committee, in which he expressed his deep condolencesover the passing of President Quang.
“We highly appreciated contributions made by President Tran Dai Quang to theprotection, construction and development of Vietnam, especially in the fieldsof security and social order. He significantly contributed to the friendship, specialsolidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the pasttime,” the message read.
The Lao leader stressedthat President Quang’s death is a huge loss to both the Vietnamese and LaoParties, States and peoples.
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, in hiscondolences addressed to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, called President TranDai Quang a great and admirable leader of the Vietnamese people, and a greatfriend of Cambodia. He offered his deepest sympathy to the VietnameseGovernment and people for this loss.
The same day, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) CentralCommittee and President of China Xi Jinping extended condolences to PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He wrote, “We are shocked to hear that comradeTran Dai Quang, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, has passedaway. On behalf of the CPC, the Chinese government and people, as well as in myown name, I extend the deepest condolences to you and to the CPV and the governmentand people of Vietnam through you.”
"We are deeply saddened by his passing away," Xi added.
“Comrade Tran Dai Quang was an outstanding party and state leader of Vietnam,and made great contributions to the development, renovation and opening-up ofVietnam”, Xinhua News Agency quoted the Chinese president as saying.
As a close comrade and friend of the Chinese people, Quang committed himself toinheriting and carrying forward the China-Vietnam traditional friendship andactively promoted the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperationbetween the two countries, Xi noted.
Also, he expressed his belief that under the strong leadership of the General Secretary,the CPV, the Vietnamese government and people will transfer their grief into strengthand constantly make new achievements in the cause of socialist construction.
The Chinese president also extended his deepest condolences to the family ofPresident Quang.
TheKremlin Press Office of Russia announced on September 21 that Russian President Vladimir Putin hadsent condolences to the Vietnamese people, family and friends of VietnamesePresident Tran Dai Quang.
Putin said President Tran Dai Quang, as the head of State as well as in manyother positions, always deserves the respect of the Vietnamese people andinternational friends.
President Tran Dai Quang has fulfilled his task of strengthening nationalsecurity and protecting the interests of Vietnam around the globe, he added.
TheRussian leader praised the contributions made by the Vietnamese President tostrengthening the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Russia, as wellas the bilateral cooperation for mutual benefits in many areas.
On the same day, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also sent hiscondolences to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The Russian Ambassador to Vietnam KonstantinVnukov conveyed his condolences to Vietnam. The Russian Embassy'sTwitter page wrote "We are deeply sad to hear about the passing of thePresident of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang."
On the afternoon of September 21, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also sent sympathymessage to the Government and people of Vietnam and the family of PresidentTran Dai Quang, saying that he was very shocked and deeply saddened to receivethe news that President Tran Dai Quang has just passed away.
Herecalled that President Tran Dai Quang warmly welcomed the Japanese Emperor and Empress during their State visit toVietnam in the last spring, and made a State visit to Japan from the end of Mayto the beginning of June this year, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary ofthe Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.
PresidentQuang devoted his utmost to the friendship between the two countries, PM Abewrote.
The Japanese PM affirmed that Japan and Vietnam, as strategic partners, aredeeply saddened by the death of President Tran Dai Quang, who, with hisleadership, built the close cooperation across fields between the twocountries”
Onthe same day, Japanese Foreign Minister Kono Taro extended a message ofcondolences on the Vietnamese President's death, which said President Tran Dai Quang not only led Vietnam in thenational socio-economic development but also contributed to improving Vietnam’sposition in the region and the international arena.-VNA
