Ottawa (VNA) – The Canada-Vietnam Society (CVS) on May 11 opened anexhibition in Toronto to introduce paintings that feature late VietnamesePresident Ho Chi Minh in celebration of his 129th birth anniversary(May 19).
On display are 14 paintings, drawn by Canadian painters Jean-MauriceGélinas and Guy Lapierre, which also depict Vietnamese landscapes.
Through their drawings about President Ho Chi Minh, the Canadianpainters want to show their respect for the late Vietnamese leader.
On this occasion, Co-chair of the CVS Dr. Nguyen Dai Trang held a booksigning event for her book on President Ho Chi Minh.
The 236-page book, written in English, French and Vietnamese languages,features a selection of the President’s articles about peace, democracy andgender equality, including 25 messages sent to leaders of the US and countriesfrom 1919 to 1969; and 25 articles about peace, including letters sent to PopePaulus VI and Nobel Peace Laureate, Prof. Linus Pauling.
It was Trang’s third book about the late President. Her two previous booksare “Ho Chi Minh: Heart and talent of a patriot” and “Ho Chi Minh: Humanity andDevelopment”, which were released in 2010 and 2013, respectively.-VNA
