Can Tho to hold southern traditional cake festival

A southern traditional cake festival will take place in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from April 6 to 9.

CanTho (VNA) – A southern traditional cake festival will take placein the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from April 6 to 9.

The municipal People’s Committee along with the Departmentof Culture, Sport and Tourism, the Investment-Trade-Tourism Promotion Centre,and the International Exhibition Fair Centre held a working session in the cityon February 14 to discuss preparations for the event.

As many as 200 booths will be set up, of which 100booths will introduce traditional cakes of the southern region while theremaining will feature specialties from other regions and foreign countries.

More than 160,000 visitors are expected to attend theevent.

Highlights of the festival will include cake-makingperformances and contests, folk games, southern folk music and dances.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le VanTam noted that relevant agencies need to cooperate to ensure food origin and quality,along with traffic safety and accommodation for tourists.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

A cultural festival has been held in Uijeongbu city of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Gyeonggi province to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Association (VWA) in the country.

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
