Hanoi (VNA) – Forty one classical and avant-garde calligraphy worksfeaturing the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) are being showcased at theVietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.
The exhibition, entitled“Net Xuan – Art of Nom” is to mark the 88th anniversary of the VietnamCommunist Party (February 3) and welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong DuyBien lauded the organisation of the exhibition, saying that it offers a chance forthe public to enjoy Vietnam’s traditional calligraphy art of the nation.
The works, inspired by poems of late renowned poets in Vietnam’s history, are writtenin Nom - the Chinese character-based Vietnamese script.
The event also features the brushwork performance and a calligraphy space forthe community, where calligraphers teach children how to learn and write Nomscripts.
The event runs until March 2, except for the Tet festival from February 14-17.-VNA
