The squarecake is an integral part of the Vietnamese during the lunar New Year(Tet) festival. It is made from glutinous rice, pork and green beanpaste, and then wrapped in “dong” (arrowroot) leaves, which give therice a green tint after being boiled for ten hours.
The activity aims to promote the culture of the Vietnamese traditionalTet to foreigners and make them feel more joyful during their stay inthe country.
Eliseev Dmitrii, a Russian, said thisis the first time he and his wife have welcomed a Vietnamese Tet, addingthat making Chung cake is a fantastic experience for him.
On this occasion, other resorts in Mui Ne have also organised numerousactivities typical to the Vietnamese Tet, including flower markets,traditional food festivals and lion and dragon dancing.-VNA
