Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - A classical concert withviolinist Stephane Tran Ngoc and pianist Tran Thai Linh took place at FrenchCultural Centre (L’Espace) on September 1.
The musicians played four pieces by French composers ClaudeDebussy; Maurice Ravel; Cesar Franck and Camille Saint-Saens.
"This year is the 100th anniversary of Debussy ’s deathand it felt vital to play one of his wonderful works with his violin sonata, which he wrote just a year before his death," said violinist Tran Ngoc.
"We like to assimilate Franck as a French composeralthough he was actually Belgian. His sonata for violin and piano is one of themost famous sonatas and rightly deserved."
Violinist Tran Ngoc has performed in more than 30 countriesas soloist with some of Europe’s finest orchestras including the Radio - FrancePhilharmonic, the Monte - Carlo Philharmonic and Japanese Shinsei SymphonyOrchestra.
