ASIAD 2018: Vietnam bags bronze medal in Kurash

Jakarta (VNA) – Kurash martialartist Nguyen Thi Lan won a bronze medal for Vietnam on August 30 at theongoing 2018 Asian Games (ASIAD) in Indonesia.

Lan pocketed the medal in the women’s under78kg event, which is also the first medal for Vietnam’s Kurash team at ASIAD2018.

Head of the Vietnamese Kurash team NguyenQuoc Trung said the achievement is of significance to the development of thesport in Vietnam in the coming time, as Kurash has just been practiced in thecountry recently.

In 2017, Vietnam earned one gold medal inKurash at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Turkmenistan, headded.

As of 21:45 on August 30, the Vietnamdelegation had bagged 4 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze medals, ranking 15th in the ASIAD 2018 medal tally.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day
