Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnam- Russia’s special friendship was highlightedat an art exchange programme in Hanoi on October 29 to mark the 100th anniversary of Russia’s October Revolution.
The event, held by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Russian Embassy in Vietnam andRussian Centre of Science and Culture, was attended by Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu, leaders ofcentral ministries and branches and Russian and Belarusian diplomats.
Besides reportage and art performances, the programme also featured documentariesabout late President Ho Chi Minh and his activities in Russia as well as Vietnameserevolutionaries who studied and fought in the Eastern Europe country.
The former Soviet Union, present-day Russia, trained generations of Vietnameseleaders, scientists, military generals and artists. Tens of thousands ofVietnamese students trained in Russia and returned home to become significantcontributors to national protection and development.
Partly inspired by the October Revolution, the Vietnamese people, under theleadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh,succeeded during the August Revolution and the two resistance wars for nationalindependence.
The Vietnamese revolution continues to follow the path towards socialism, thepath of the October Revolution guided by Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minhthought, in national construction and defence to attain the goals of a richpeople, and a strong country.-VNA
