Ancient bronze drum discovered in Yen Bai

An ancient bronze drum has been found by road workers in Yen Hop commune, Van Yen district, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai.

The shape, pattern and texture of the drum proves it isthe earliest type of Dong Son bronze drum, known as Heger 1, dating back2,000-2,500 years ago, said Deputy Director of the provincial museum LyKim Khoa.

Unfortunately, the drum was damaged duringconstruction work. It is now preserved at the Van Yen district People’sCommittee office as a national antique.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Archaeologists from the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology, the Hanoi Museum and the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have announced the discovery of over 70 graves from the pre-Dong Son period and 40 graves from Dong Son period at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological relic in Kim Chung commune, Hoai Duc district.

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange

Hanoi Ao dai dance marks Vietnamese women’s day

Vietnam attends UNESCO Executive Board’s 220th session in France
