23-year-old Tran Hoang Ai Nhi from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak will represent Vietnam at the Miss Intercontinental pageant in Egypt in October 2021. Ai Nhi, 172cm tall, is currently a student of business and commerce at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City. Ai Nhi is a familiar face at major beauty contests in Vietnam. She was in the Top 10 of the Miss World Vietnam 2019 beauty contest and reached the Top 22 of the Miss Vietnam 2020 pageant. The team that will accompany Ai Nhi to the competition has also been introduced, including stylist Louis Huy Dang, designers Pham Si Toan and Dang Trong Minh Chau, and makeup experts Quan Nguyen and Pu Le. Toan said her dresses will be simple but charming. The 49th Miss Intercontinental pageant is scheduled to take place at the Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on October 29. It was initially supposed to be held in India but the venue was changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the South Asian country. The 49th edition of Miss Intercontinental is scheduled to take place at the Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on October 29 where beauty delegates from all over the world will compete against each other for the coveted crown. It was supposed to take place in India but the venue was changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the South Asian country. The pageant has been well known as a showcase of the world´s most poised, stunning women. It is hard to believe that the pageant started in 1971 as a promotional event for tourism in Aruba. The number of contestants who vie for the most expensive crown of all beauty pageants every year has skyrocketed to over seventy and year after year. The Miss Intercontinental contest continues to remind us of the glorious beauty of diversity. The 23 year-old Ai Nhi is 172cm tall. She is currently a student of business and commerce at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City. Ai Nhi has participated in several major beauty contests in the country. She was in the Top 10 of Miss World Vietnam 2019 and reached the Top 22 of Miss Vietnam 2020. Vietnamese beauties have shone at international pageants over the past years. Earlier this year, the organisers of Miss World 2021 released a short film announcing the 2021 competition, featuring two Vietnamese contestants – Do My Linh and Luong Thuy Linh – and their unforgettable moments. Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh looks stunning while walking out on stage in a shimmering evening gown, which was quite impacting, during the Top Model competition. Ai Nhi is announced as the Vietnamese representative for the Miss Intercontinental 2021 pageant during a virtual press conference held on September 26. She was in the Top 10 of the Miss World Vietnam 2019 contest and reached the Top 22 of the Miss Vietnam 2020 event. The Miss Intercontinental 2021 pageant is scheduled to take place on October 29 in Egypt. Vietnamese beauties earned a total 386 points in 2019, putting the country at the eighth place in Missosology website's global beauty ranking. Missosology calculates a nation's total points by achievements of national representatives in five beauty pageants: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Supranational, and Miss Earth. Vietnam earned 120 points with Tuong San’s achievement, finishing in the top 8 at Miss International; 200 points each from Ngoc Chau's top 10 finish at Miss Supranational and Luong Thuy Linh’s top 12 finish at Miss World. Vietnamese women’s recent achievements in international pageants have sent the nation up on the world’s beauty rankings. In the Top 20 Timeless Beauty 2018 rankings published by Missosology, Vietnam climbed to fifth place with a total of 507 points, 10 ranks higher than in 2017. According to Missosology, the country gained when Phuong Khanh won Miss Earth 2018. The ranking was based on the total score in five contests: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Earth. The MIO is the Organizer of the annual Miss Intercontinental competition. Meals – (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be provided by the organizer. Local transportation is provided by the date when contestants arrive in host country. Nevertheless, MIO has the right to reject without stating any reason the application of contestants. The prize money in total is 45,000 USD which will be divided among the winner and runner-ups of the contest. Vietnam for the first time made its presence in the Big 5 Rankings for the year 2018 by the leading beauty pageant website, Missosology. The country earned the 5th position in the Top 5 of Missosology’s global beauty chart. Vietnamese beauties had an excellent year with titles that contributed to help the country to reach a higher position by their achievements in international beauty pageants. Accordingly, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, H'Hen Nie is the first Vietnamese beauty named in the top five of Miss Universe pageant 2018.
