AFC fines Vietnam’s goalkeeper after red card

Vietnam’s goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh has been fined a hefty 1,000 USD by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after he got a red card at the recent ASEAN Football Federation Cup.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh has been fined a hefty 1,000 USD by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after he got a red card atthe recent ASEAN Football Federation Cup.

Manhwas sent off in the 75th minute of the semi-final match against Indonesia afterhe trampled on player Bayu Pradana last month.

Vietnamlost the match and was eliminated from the tournament.

AFCsaid it was a non-sporting behaviour.

Asa result, Manh cannot take part in the 2019 Asian Cup. He will not be attendingthe national team’s training course to prepare for the competition, whichbegins in March.

The Vietnam Football Federation was also fined 38,000USD as local fans broke the Indonesian team’s bus window after Vietnam lost.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi
