Nghe An (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 16 signed in the north-central province of Nghe An, the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh, the issuance of a special set of postage stamp on the occasion of the 130th birthday anniversary of the late President and the 50th founding anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Museum.
The stamp has a portrait of the late leader in its centre, and the image of the museum resembling a lotus bulb on the right. It has a face value of 4,000 VND and will be in use from May 16. 2020 to December 31, 2021.
The same day, authorities of the province held a conference on May 16 to honour outstanding individuals and collectives in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle.
As many as 30 individuals and collectives were rewarded in an online literature, arts and press works contest on the movement in the 2015-2020 period.
President Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district. He devoted his whole life to the national liberation while tirelessly striving for peace and progress in the world. He led the national struggle for national independence to success and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, 1945. He passed away in 1969./.
