2,400 tickets reserved for Vietnamese fans for VN-Myanmar game

As many as 2,400 tickets are reserved for Vietnamese football fans in demand for the Vietnam – Myanmar match of the Group A in the ongoing ASEAN Federation Football (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 2,400 tickets are reserved for Vietnamese football fansin demand for the Vietnam – Myanmar match of the Group A in the ongoing ASEANFederation Football (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.

The MyanmarFootball Federation (MFF) is selling the tickets at its headquarters nearThuwunna Stadium from 10:30am on November 17 to 17:30 on November 19.

Vietnamese fanshave to show their passports at the ticket counter and each person can purchaseonly two tickets in maximum. The MFF advised the Vietnamese fans to buy seatsin the area exclusively reserved for away fans for safety reason.

A large crowdof people have been seen flocking to the MFF headquarters to queue for ticketsof the big game. They calmly stayed in line and well maintained order. Thetickets are priced at between 3,000 Kyat (1.89 USD) and 5,000 Kyat (3.15 USD).

The Vietnamesefootball team arrived in Yangon, Myanmar at 19:00 on November 17 to prepare forthe game with Myanmar which is slated for 18:00 (local time) on November 20 inThuwanna Stadium.

On November 16 evening, Vietnam beat Malaysia 2-0 at My DinhNational Stadium in Hanoi.  

Striker Nguyen Cong Phuong (Number 14) gave the home side thelead with a back heel touch at the 11th minute from the whistle. At the 60th minute, striker Nguyen Anh Duc (Number 11) doubled the score for Vietnam with atidy finish from a pass of midfielder Phan Van Duc, bringing joy for the homespectators.

Vietnam defeated Laos 3-0 in its first match of Group A aweek earlier, with goals by Cong Phuong, Anh Duc and Nguyen Quang Hai.Meanwhile, Malaysia previously defeated Laos and Cambodia. 

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 is taking place fromNovember 8 to December 15 with 26 matches among 10 teams. Vietnam’s nationalfootball team is in Group A together with Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.

This year, the AFF Suzuki Cup will feature a newplaying format, with both home and away ties. Vietnam will play Myanmar onNovember 20 and face Cambodia four days later.

In the tournament’s history, Vietnam won thechampionship just once in 2008. With the leadership of coach Park Hang-seo andthe current squad, both Vietnamese and Korean football fans are hopeful theS-shaped country’s team will take the trophy for the second time after a decadeawaiting.-VNA

Over 100 burials from 4000 years ago discovered in Hanoi

Festival promotes Vietnam-RoK cultural exchange
