The dishes include three specialties of the capital city of Hanoi :Pho (noodle served with beef and chicken), Bun cha (rice noodleserved with grilled pork) and Bun thang (rice vermicelli served withchicken, fried egg strands, lean meat pie strands and mushroom).
The northern port city of Hai Phong has one dish in the list -Banh da cua (scrab noodles), the northern province of Ninh Binhhas Com chay (rice crackers), while the central province of NgheAn has Mien luon (eel vermicelli).
Pho Kho (drynoodles) originating from the Central Highland province of Gia Lai, andBanh khot (coconut-turmeric shrimp pancakes) of Vung Tau city in thesouthern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau are also among the recogniseddishes.
The biggest city in the south, Ho ChiMinh City, previously known as Sai Gon, contributes two dishes to thelist: Goi cuon (fresh spring roll) and Com tam (broken rice).
A representative from ARO will present the certificates of recognitionto representatives of the localities where the dishes orginate, at aceremony in Ho Chi Minh City next month.-VNA
