The State-run Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and authorities of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak signed a communications agreement for 2016-2020 in Buon Ma Thuot city on October 21.
Under the agreement, the VNA will cover major political events and the development process of Dak Lak; popularise its culture, people and potentials to the public at home and abroad.
It will also take the responsibility for promoting the image of Dak Lak as a socio-economic and cultural hub in the region and a “development pole” in the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia development triangle.
The agency is to produce a collection of reports and documentaries introducing cultures of ethnic minorities, particularly the UNESCO-recognised Intangible Cultural Heritage – the Tay Nguyen Gong Space, and other unique local festivals.
In collaboration with spokesperson of the provincial People’s Committee and the Department of Information and Communications, the VNA will provide accurate information to refute incorrect reports on local activities, helping maintain social stability.-VNA
