Visitors flock to Sapa to enjoy snowy Christmas

A winter tourism festival is underway in Sapa town in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai. Tourists to the town during this time can experience a Christmas atmosphere with a Japanese-style snow village and well-decorated pine trees.

The snow village covers an area of 1,000 sqm and is designed as a Japanese ancient village. Here visitors could also see a special 9-metre-tall Christmas trees made from 8.000 maize ears and other specialty veggies which are the locality’s signatures.

Tourists to Sapa these days can also take lovely photos with cherry blossoms by the central lake. Better still, if they are lucky, they can also see snowfalls given this winter is forecast to be the coldest in many years.

The Sapa winter tourism festival 2020 themed ‘Snowy Heaven’ is scheduled to last through January 2021./.
