Vingroup to launch Vsmart smartphones next week

Hanoi (VNA)- Property developer Vingroup will officially launch its Vsmartsmartphones on December 14 at the Vincom Centre Landmark 81 in Ho Chi MinhCity.

The phones are being manufactured at theVinFast automobile and electric motorbike manufacturing complex in DinhVu-Cat Hai industrial park in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

The factory has a capacity of five millionproducts per year for the first stage and is certified to achieve ISO 9001:2015 quality management. The whole plant is designed and constructed accordingto international standard IPC-A-610. The production environment is fullycontrolled in temperature, humidity, and electrostatic discharge control aswell as air purity to ensure the highest quality of product.

Vsmart technology is developed on the basis ofhigh standards from Europe. In particular, most of the stages in the valuechain from design, research and product development have been developed byleading Spanish technology company BQ. With the acquisition of 51 percent ofBQ, VinSmart can maximise the capacity of the Spanish senior team in productresearch and development as well as in the application of technologies inmanufacturing.

Besides BQ, Vsmart is also working closely withthe world’s largest tech companies such as Qualcomm and Google to update themost advanced technologies in the field of smartphones.

Through the investment in the telephonemanufacturing plant, Vsmart is striving to control the entire product value chain.

Vingroup’s vice chairman cum CEO Nguyen VietQuang said the completion and launch of four smartphones in less than sixmonths demonstrated the group’s commitment and determination to enter thetechnology industry. At present, Vingroup is still working with big partners,looking for skilled professionals and perfecting an advanced equipment line.

“We expect, together with VinFast automobile,Vsmart will promote the development of Vietnam’s industry and bring theVietnamese brand to the world," he added.

After the mobile phone, Vsmart will produceintelligent electronic products such as SmartHome and SmartTV. Vsmart will alsoapproach domestic and international suppliers of chips and accessories tomaster supply chain management and quality.-VNA
