Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam has posted thefastest-growing national brand this year, with value surging 29 percent to 319billion USD, on the list of the world’s 100 most valuable national brandscompiled by the London-based independent brand valuation and strategyconsultancy Brand Finance.
The country climbed nine places from 42nd last year to 33rd this year.
Vietnam, which has recorded staggeringly low COVID-19cases and related deaths, has emerged as one of the top locations in SoutheastAsia for manufacturing and has become an increasingly attractive destinationfor investors, particularly from the US, Brand Finance said.
Vietnam’s increase was primarily due to “Vietnam Value”,a national programme to endorse products and services that meet minimumstandards set out by the Government, together with concentrated efforts from theGovernment to promote economic growth, it noted.
The US remained the world’s most valuable brand, at23.7 trillion USD, followed by China and Japan.
2020 put the world to the test due to COVID-19, with lossesto the 100 most valuable national brands amounting to 13.1 trillion USD.
