Vietnam’s first field hospital and military doctors are set for the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan in early October. In preparation for the mission, the Vietnamese officers have equipped themselves with not only military equipment but also necessary skills as well as the courage and spirit of a Vietnamese soldier.

This is a training session of Vietnamese officers who will participate in the UN peacekeeping force in South Sudan next month.

They have experienced hundreds of training sessions like this to improve physical strength, professional, language and communication skills, and learn about the host country’s culture.

Severe weather condition, pandemic and insecurity due to conflicts are challenges the Vietnamese peacekeepers will face when serving in South Sudan.-VNA
