Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in thePhilippines has repatriated the body of a Vietnamese sailor who died of illnessafter being rescued from militant group Abu Sayyaf, according to the ConsularDepartment under the Foreign Ministry.
Representatives of the Foreign Ministry, relevant bodies, andhis relatives received the body of Truong in the Noi Bai International Airporton December 2.
Nguyen Huu Truong was one of the four crewmembers of theGiang Hai vessel, who were held hostage in Philippine waters last February byIslamist militant group Abu Sayyaf. The four were rescued in early November.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Economic andCultural Office in Taipei reported that a Vietnameseworker was injured during his work at a local company in Kaohsiung City, Taiwai(China) on December 2. Tran Van Son was taken to a local hospital forexamination and later was discharged due to minor injuries.-VNA
