– Vietnamese businesses are joining Argentineand foreign peers at AgroActiva – the biggest agricultural fair in Argentina,in Santa Fe province, which is around 400 km from Buenos Aires.

The annual trade fair, opened on June 7, showcases not only farm produce and agriculturalmachinery but also scientific and technological applications in farming.

Representing Vietnam as a special guest of the fair, Ambassador to ArgentinaDang Xuan Dung hosted a talk introducing the country and its economic policy toparticipants.

He affirmed that Vietnam has been pursuing comprehensive internationalintegration, which has helped it spur its national economy, expand exportmarkets, participate deeply in global value and production chains, and carryout economic restructuring.

Vietnam and Argentina made a two-way trade value of 3 billion USD in 2017, withArgentina becoming Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner in Latin America andVietnam becoming Argentina’s second biggest market in Asia.

The two countries have a lot of potential for agricultural cooperation asVietnam has a high demand in animal feed, cooking oil, grains, and wheat whichare strengths of Argentine agriculture.

During the fair, participating Vietnamese businesses met with Argentinepartners and sought purchases on farming production machinery.-VNA
