Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam allocates 20 percent of State budget spendingor 5.8 percent of national gross domestic product (GDP) each year foreducation, according to Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.
The number amountsto 8 percent of GDP if family contributions are calculated, the minister saidat the Education World Forum (EWF) held in London in January.
Such investmentshave paid off as Vietnam ranked eighth in science, 22nd in mathematics and 30thin reading in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) test in2015.
According to thePISA test, Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest educationalinvestment efficiency and the country has been always named among the top 10 ofinternational contests for science students.
Vietnam has madesignificant achievements in school network expansion and the universalizationof primary and secondary education.
Localities have alsorolled out preferential policies and facilitated ethnic minority children orthose in difficult circumstances to access education.-VNA
