Vietnam, RoK share experience in communications development, education

– A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education, led by its deputy head Nguyen Thanh Long,is on a working visit to the RoK from December10-14 to explore experience in communications development and education.

The Vietnamese delegation had a working session with the RoK’s Yonhap NewsAgency, during which they talked about the application of science andtechnology, especially artificial intelligence, in the field of communications,and how RoK media in general, and Yonhap in particular, respond to the intense competitionfrom social networking sites in providing information.

President and CEO of Yonhap News Agency Cho Sung-boo highlighted the fine relations betweenVietnam and the RoK in many fields, especially in journalism cooperation.

He emphasised theclose ties between Yonhap and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), while revealingthat Yonhap will set up a Southeast Asian news office in Hanoi in the time tocome.

Long spoke highly of cooperation and experience sharing between the two newsagencies in recent times.

The Vietnamese delegation explored Yonhap's experience in verifying socialnetworking information, collecting fees of online newspapers, and the developmenttrends of the press in the RoK.

During the talks with RoK Deputy Minister of Education Park Beag-beom onDecember 12, Long conveyed his joy at the effective cooperation between the twocountries’ education ministries, expressing his hope that the RoK Government andMinistry of Education will help Vietnam develop a comprehensive educationsystem, including vocational training.

He asked the RoK Ministry to support Vietnam in scientific and technological researchand in teaching the Vietnamese language to multicultural families in the country.

He also hoped that the RoK side will make it easy for more Vietnamese studentsto pursue their studies in the nation.

The two sides agreed to serve as bridges to promote connection among their universities.

The same day, the Vietnamesedelegation visited the Seoul Technical High School to learn about vocationaltraining at RoK high schools. –VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
