Vietnam sends condolences to Myanmar over aircraft crash

Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc on June 8 extended condolences to President of Myanmar Htin Kyaw over amilitary aircraft crash on June 7.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh cabled a message ofcondolence to State Counselor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi.

A military aircraft vanished shortly after taking off from the coastal town of Myeikon a flight to Yangon on June 7, carrying 116 people, including 105 passengersand 11 crew members; 15 among them were children.

It lost contact whenit was about 32 kilometres west of the town of Dawei.

Wreckage of themilitary plane was found on June 8 morning.

According to amilitary source, bad weather might be the cause of the accident. But, the exactcause can only be confirmed once the aircraft’s black box is recovered.

Rescuers found moredead bodies on June 8 during the search for the plane.
