Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded three imported COVID-19 cases on October 31afternoon, raising the country’s total number of infections to 1,180, said theNational Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Patient1,178 is a 27-year-old woman from the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap. Shehad close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient in the United Arab Emirates(UAE).
She enteredVietnam from the UAE on flight QH9305 which arrived at Cam Ranh InternationalAirport in Khanh Hoa province on October 29. The patient has been quarantinedand treated at Khanh Hoa General Hospital.
Patient1,179 is a 21-year-old woman from Hanoi’s Thach That district and Patient 1,180is a 24-year-old woman from Gia Lai province’s Chu Prong district.
Bothpatients entered Vietnam from Japan on flight VN5301 arriving at Da NangInternational Airport on October 29. They have been quarantined and treated atDa Nang Lung Hospital.
Of the country’s infections, 691 are locally transmitted cases,including 551 cases linked with the outbreak in the central city of Da Nangsince July 25.
Vietnamhas gone through 59 consecutive days without new COVID-19 infectionsin the community.
Among thepatients still under treatment, six have tested negative for the virus once,four twice and seven thrice. No patient is in critical condition at present.
A total of 1,063 COVID-19 patients had been successfully treated while 35patients with serious underlying diseases had died.
There are currently 14,713 people who had close contact with confirmed cases orcame from pandemic-hit regions are under quarantine across the country, including 174 people in hospitals, 13,208 inconcentrated quarantine establishments and 1,339 at their homes.
Asthe COVID-19 pandemic can return at any time, the Ministry of Health recommendedpeople to wear face masks in crowded places, wash hands with soap or handsanitiser regularly, avoid large gatherings, keep distance from each other andmake health declarations./.
