Hanoi (VNA) – More than 350 Vietnamese citizens were brought homefrom the US and Japan in a repatriation flight conducted by national flagcarrier Vietnam Airlines on October 30.
On the same day, another flight of the carrier repatriatednearly 350 citizens from Russia.
These flights were arranged by relevant agencies of Vietnamand the three foreign countries, and Vietnam Airlines.
The passengers include children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnantwomen, labourers with expired contracts, students without residences due todormitory shutdown and other especially disadvantaged cases.
In-flight safety and preventive measures against COVID-19were rigorously enforced to protect the passengers’ health and prevent thespread of the disease.
All passengers and crew members received medical checkupsand were sent to quarantine in line with regulations upon arrival.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantagedcircumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line with citizens’wishes, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity inVietnam./.
