Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam reportedeight imported COVID-19 cases on October 25 evening, raising the total in thecountry to 1,168, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control.
All the new patients were put under quarantine upon theirarrival.
Of the total, 691 were infected with the virus domestically,including 551 linked with Da Nang city since the latest coronavirus wave beganthere on July 25.
Vietnam entered the 53rd consecutive day without any communityinfections. Among the patients still under treatment, three have testednegative for SARS-CoV-2 once, five twice, and 10 thrice. Currently, there is nopatient in critical conditions.
As many as 1,057 patients have recovered while 35 have diedfrom complications related to the disease. Most of the fatalities were theelderly with serious underlying health conditions.
There are 14,576 people having close contact with confirmedcases or coming from pandemic-hit regions under quarantine at present,including 181 in hospitals, 13,208 in concentrated quarantine sites, and 1,187at home./.
