Hanoi (VNA) – Over 350 Vietnamese citizens werebrought home from Canada and the Republic of Korea on a flight operated by thenational flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 23-24.
The flight was conducted thanks to the joint efforts ofcompetent Vietnamese agencies at home and abroad, and local authorities.
The passengers included children under 18, students whocompleted courses, the elderly, people with illnesses, and workers with expiredvisas and contracts.
The Vietnamese representative agencies in the two countriessent staff to airports in Vancouver and Seoul to help the citizens withboarding procedures.
Strict security, safety and epidemiological measures wereimplemented during the flight to ensure passengers’ health and prevent thespread of diseases.
After landing at Van Don airport in the northern province ofQuang Ninh, the passengers and crew members had their health checked and weresent to quarantine in line with regulations.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantagedcircumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line with citizens’wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity in thecountry./.
