Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam ranks45th out of 126 economies in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2018, up 14 placescompared to 2016, according to the GII report announced by the World IntellectualProperty Organisation (WIPO) on July 10.
In the GII report 2017, Vietnam was at the 47th placeamong 127 economies over the world.
Among 30 low middle-income countries, Vietnam ranked the second in terms of theindex.
Innovation is now widely recognised as a central driver of economic growth anddevelopment.
The Global Innovation Index aims to capture the multi-dimensional facets ofinnovation by providing a rich of database of detailed metrics for 126economies.-VNA
