Vietnam promotes tourism in Russia

Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism(VNAT) will participate in the 2018 Moscow International Travel and TourismExhibition (MITT 2018), slated for March 13-15 in Moscow, Russia.

Atthe event, the VNAT will promote the “Vietnam – Timeless charm” slogan as wellas tourism products which are expected to draw many Russian tourists, includingsea and islands tourism, medical tourism, MICE (Meetings,Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) tourism and ecotourism.

Thedelegation will also introduce new contents of Vietnam’s tourism developmentstrategy and seek more cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and travelfirms along with news agencies of Russia and other countries.

The VNAT sees Russia as a key tourism market. The country is viewed as a safe and friendlydestination with sandy beaches, sunny weather and high-end resorts, and richculture and gastronomy that can attract Russian visitors.

Over 2.86 millionforeigners were estimated to visit Vietnam in January and February, up 29.7percent from the same period in 2017, according to the General StatisticsOffice of Vietnam.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said it aims to serve between 15and 17 million foreigners and 78 million domestic travellers this year, withtotal revenue expected to hit 620 trillion VND (27.28 billion USD), up 21.35percent on year.
