Vietnam outbound tourism forum to be held at VITM

Hanoi (VNA) – The first “Vietnam Outbound Tourism– Opportunities and Challenges” forum will be held within the framework of theVietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2019 scheduled for March 27-30 inHanoi.

At a press conference in Hanoi on March 13, Vice Chairman ofthe Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said Vietnam’s outbound tourism hasbeen growing rapidly by 15-20 percent per year.

Via the forum, the organising board wants to improveoutbound tourism activities to bring practical benefits to the country, he said.

VITM 2019, under the theme of “Green Tourism”, looks topopularise ecological, community-based, and agricultural tourism products; aswell as environmental protection and climate change adaptation initiatives inthe field.

Firms and state management agencies will have a chance todiscuss green tourism and the role of the environment in the future of the sector.

The largest event at the VITM will be a forum on the theme “GreenTourism”, seeking methods to promote green and sustainable tourism initiatives.It is expected to attract 1,000 delegates.

Exhibitors from 25 countries and territories have registeredto join VITM 2019. In particular, those from the Democratic People’s Republicof Korea and Peru will join the event for the first time. Up to 502 stalls areplanned for.

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budgetJetstar Pacific will offer a number of substantial promotions.

More than 100,000 low-cost fares and 18,000 package tourswill be sold at the event.–VNA
