- A delegation from the Vietnam NewsAgency (VNA), led by General Director Nguyen Duc Loi, paid a working trip tothe storm-ravaged central province of Quang Tri on November 3.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung told the delegation that the province is directing efforts to restore economic development followingthe disaster.

He hailed VNA for publicising the province’s socio-economic developmentand national defence-security situation in the past years, and hoped the State-run newsagency would continue to provide assistance in communications, especially in promotingsignature local products.

Loi, for his part, congratulated the provincial Party Organisation onsuccessfully holding its 17th Congress and expressed his sympathy with the province over losses caused by storms and floods. The VNA staff had recentlyjoined hands to help residents in the central region overcome the disaster, he added.

In the long-term, VNA will continue its communications cooperation activities that the two sides had signed, he said.

On the same day, VNA and authorities of Trieu Phong district held aceremony to inaugurate Trieu Tai Pre-school in Trieu Tai commune.

The school sits on 305 sq.m and cost 1.8 billion VND (78,200 USD) tobuild, financed by both VNA and Vingroup.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Loi asked the locality to make effective use ofthe facility to meet learning and teaching needs of local teachers and children.

The VNA General Director also presented gifts to the pre-school./.
