The DeputyPM congratulated the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy led by PM MarkRutte on its success in the recent election, expressing his belief that the newadministration will make the Netherlands more prosperous.
He noted theextensive and comprehensive development of the bilateral friendship andcooperation with the Netherlands becoming the leading European economic, tradeand investment partner of Vietnam.
Deputy PMDung highly valued the sound affiliation between the two countries atinternational and regional organisations and forums.
He said hehopes that the Netherlands will continue supporting Vietnam in its nationaldevelopment as well as in implementing two strategic partnership agreements in climatechange adaptation and sustainable agriculture development, while expandingbilateral ties in the areas of Netherlands’ strength such as shipping, maritimeeconomy and energy.
For hispart, PM Mark Ruttelauded Vietnam’s recent socio-economic achievements, andappreciated Vietnam’s active and positive international integration as well asits efforts in strengthening economic relations through bilateral and multilateralfree trade agreements.
He affirmedthat the Government and business community of the Netherland are interested in fosteringeconomic, trade and investment partnership with Vietnam, and support the EU’s earlysigning and approval of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
Highlightingthat Vietnam is an important partner of the Netherlands in the Southeast Asianregion, he reaffirmed his country’s position of supporting the stance ofVietnam and ASEAN in settling East Sea disputes.
The twosides also expressed delight at the effective activities to realise the bilateralstrategic partnership in climate change adaptation and sustainable agriculturedevelopment.
They pledgedto maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially the highlevel, to deepen mutual understanding and trust. They agreed to createfavourable conditions for enterprises of both sides to bolster their links,especially in prioritised sectors of climate change, water management, energy,maritime economy and logistics.
They willcontinue focusing on strengthening collaboration among localities, whilesupporting each other at international and regionalforums.-VNA
