The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and Anti-Bribery Commission of Myanmar (ACM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on fighting corruption.
It was signed by Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh and ACM Chairman U Mya Win in Hanoi on October 15 at the end of their working session.
Both sides agreed on six areas of cooperation, including personnel training, technical assistance, exchanging information and expertise, raising public awareness of anti-corruption and facilitating visits each year.
Tranh said the signing would create a necessary legal foundation for the two sides to boost information and experience sharing in graft combat.
U Mya Win, in response, said the MoU marks a new step in the bilateral friendship and believed that the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam would provide continued assistance to Myanmar’s anti-corruption agencies.-VNA
