According to the report, with a score of 15.3 out of 100, the level of hunger in Vietnam has been classified as “moderate”.
This year, the index measured 119 countries and territories around the world. For each country, the report value was determined based on four indicators of undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting and child mortality. The index scores on a 100-point Severity Scale, where 0 is the best score (no hunger) and 100 is the worst.
Vietnam had its global hunger score fall from 28.3 (classified as serious) in 2000 to 15.3 this year. Vietnam stood behind Thailand (46th) and Malaysia (57th) in the Southeast Asia.
