Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Japan should join hands to equip their UNpeace-keeping forces with sufficient knowledge and experience to complete tasksin various area around the world.
Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh made the statement while receivingJapanese military attaché colonel Keitaro Shido on April 3.
The Vietnamese officer spoke highly of the sound cooperation between the twodefence ministries, expressing his hope that the ministries will furtherefficient, comprehensive and sustainable collaboration, making defencecooperation become one of the pillars in the two countries’ partnership.
For his part, Keitaro Shido valued Vietnam’s position in the region andhighlighted that Japan is willing to cooperate and facilitate condition for thetwo militaries to share experience and facilities to develop their peace-keepingforces in line with regulations of each nation and the UN.-VNA
