Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Information andCommunications Nguyen Huy Dung said that this webinar was an important andtimely event in the context that the pandemic continues to developcomplicatedly, causing severe recession for many countries.
Dung expressed his belief that the two countries will havemany ideas and experiences to share, exchange with each other in ICT, given bothexerting great efforts in ICT development and application.
He told participants that in its National DigitalTransformation Strategy, Vietnam is aiming to raise the share of the digitaleconomy in national GDP to 20 percent by 2025 and about 30 percent by2030.
Indian Ambassador Pranay Verma stated that ICT will play animportant role in post-pandemic economic recovery in both countries.
Both India and Vietnam have very ambitious visions indeveloping the ICT sector, especially during the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore,this is the right time for them to seek more opportunities to raise ICTcapacity for deeper cooperation, he added.
