Hanoi (VNA) - Hungary always considers Vietnam its important partner in the region, not only in the past, at present, but in the future, affirmed Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo at his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on November 9.

Hungary attaches special importance to its ties with Vietnam and is willing to support for the country’s development, he stated after showing his impressions at its development achievements and increasing position in the international arena.

He informed the host of the outcomes of his talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung as well as the results of the two legislative bodies, affirming that the Hungarian NA continually supports the nations’ collaboration in all fields, especially in economics, trade, investment, education and training, health, and agriculture.

The Speaker continued to say that the Hungarian Government recently approved the provision of official development assistance (ODA) for the Can Tho tumour hospital project and the Red River clean water supply project, scheduled to be implemented in 2016.

Hungary is also willing to help Vietnam in education and training, vowing to maintain 100 scholarships for students each year.

As a European Union country, Hungary will do its utmost to enhance Vietnam’s relations with the EU, he added.

Speaking of the outcomes of the talks between the two legislators, PM Nguyen Tan Dung believed that the visit would make an important contribution to boosting the fine relationship between the two countries in general and the two NAs in particular.

He thanked for Hungary’s ODA supply for Vietnam, suggesting the two sides cooperate more closely to effectively carry out the projects.

He expressed his hope that Hungary continues creating favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living in the country.

The Government leader also suggested the country early recognise Vietnam as a market economy and support for the early signing of the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement.-VNA
