Hungarian National Assembly Speaker starts Vietnam visit

Hungarian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Kover Laszlo arrived in Hanoi on November 8, beginning his six-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Hanoi (VNA) - Hungarian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Kover Laszlo arrived in Hanoi on November 8, beginning his six-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Kover was born in 195, and earned degrees in law and political science. He held various positions in Hungarian NA committees and agencies before taking office as Speaker of the Hungarian NA in August, 2010. He was reelected to the post in May, 2014.

Kover is companied by his wife Maria Bekk; Arpad Potapi, NA deputy and Chairman of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group; Marton Gyongyosi, NA deputy and Vice Chairman of the Hungary-Southeast Asia Friendship Parliamentarian Group; Laszlo Veress, Head of the Secretariat of the Speaker, Office of the Hungarian NA; Peter Sardi, Director for Foreign Relations Office of the Hungarian NA; and Csaba Ory, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam.

During the visit from November 8-13, the Hungarian NA Speaker will hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung, meet with the host’s high-ranking leaders, and visit historical, cultural and tourism sites in Hanoi, northern Quang Ninh province, central Da Nang city, central province of Quang Nam and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam and Hungary set up their diplomatic ties on February 3, 1950. Two-way trade reached 176 million USD in 2014, a year-on-year rise of 19 percent.-VNA
