Pretoria (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy inSouth Africa hosted the “ASEAN Sports and Family’s Day 2017” in Pretoria, the capitalcity of South Africa on April 29.
The event was attended by representatives fromembassies, military attaché, commercial affairs and news agencies of the ASEANcountries in South Africa.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vu Van Dung,Vietnamese Ambassador to South Africa and Chairman of the ASEAN Committee inPretoria, stressed that the event aims to strengthen solidarity and friendshipof ASEAN through cultural and sport activities.
He also expressed his hope that the friendship andtraditional cooperation of the ASEAN member countries will be enhanced.
Exchanges on traditional cultural activities were heldat the event, along with badminton, table tennis, mini golf competitions, amongothers. Traditional dishes of the ASEAN countries were also served by the embassies.-VNA
