Addressing the 11th meeting of the Vietnam-US JointCommittee on Science-Technology Cooperation in Hanoi on December 9, Duy highlightedthe strong development of science and technology in the US, Vietnam and the wholeworld, directly influencing people’s life. Alongside, digital technology andartificial intelligence are growing strongly, serving the circular economy andsustainable development.
For his part, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E Knapper saidthat the increasing cooperation between the two countries in science andtechnology will help promote the prosperity and progress of both sides.
In 2023, the two sides will celebrate theirstrategic partnership, he noted, proposing that based on their long-term cooperativerelations, the two sides can elevate their collaboration in science andtechnology to a new height.
At the event, participants discussed the prioritised science and technology areasof Vietnam and the United States in the coming years, and the fields with highcooperation potential such as R&D activities in artificial intelligence, and capacity building forSTEM education.
They also gave opinions on reports of four working groups inthe fields of health and medical sciences, climate change, conservation andbiotechnology in agriculture./.
