Police forces in Vietnam and the Czech Republic agreed to work together in multiple fields, particularly against drug-related crimes.
Colonel Nguyen Dich Nam, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Public Security’s Drug Crime Investigation Department, made the statement at a press conference in Prague on October 11 (local time).
The colonel headed a delegation from the Police General Department to visit the Czech Republic from September 12 to October 12, where he and his companions had talks with police agencies and criminal investigation bodies of 11 cities and provinces.
During the meetings, Vietnam proposed several initiatives to combat drug-related crimes, which included a plan for multilateral efforts between the two countries and Germany, Austria and Poland.
Speaking to Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reporters, Colonel Nam reaffirmed that Vietnam will expand its cooperation with the Czech Republic in crime prevention with a focus on information exchange, delegation meetings and personnel and language trainings.-VNA
