Lang Son (VNA) – The official openingof bilateral border gates Chi Ma (Vietnam) – Ai Dian (China) is scheduled to beheld on September 10.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Sonprovince Pham Ngoc Thuong on August 30 made a fact-finding tour of the Chi Maborder gate and worked with relevant agencies on the preparation for the launchingevent in Loc Binh district.

He requested the provincial Department ofExternal Affairs and the management board of Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economiczone as well as local police, border guard and customs forces to continuecoordinating with Chinese counterparts to gear up for the opening and urgecontractors to complete the installation of equipment while ensuring order andsecurity.

Head of the management board of the Dong Dang –Lang Son border gate economic zone Phan Hong Tien said the construction of theNo.1 inter-sectoral monitoring house at the Chi Ma border gate has been completed,covering 4,294 square metres.

Otherfacilities such as air conditioner, fire prevention and security camera systemshave been completed with a total investment of nearly 110 billion VND (4.7million USD).

Local authorities had held talks with counterpartsfrom Ningming county in China’s southwestern province of Guangxi to discusspreparation for the launching ceremony as well as the transportationmanagement.

Thuong said the opening of the border gate pairis significant to promote socio-economic development in Vietnam-China borderareas and contribute to building a border line of peace, friendship, stability,cooperation and development.-VNA
